Most of you know where i work, well it turns out now that while I'm at work not only will my calls be monitored but they will be able to see exactly what is on my computer. I just want people's opinion, is this an invasion of privacy? Or am I overreacting?

Hmmmmmmmmm... Big Brother is watching.. I don't think I'd consider it an invasion of privacy because you are on their equipment and working for them while you are being monitored, and, they're telling you about it ahead of time. Many, many companies do the same thing unfortunately. But, it sucks that's for sure. Sorry snails If however, they're watching ya in the can peeing, I might start lookin' for another job *peers through keyhole*

Yeah, my company wants robots workin' for them too, who won't talk back, or make any demands..or care about people...arseholes. Ever since they went corporate *spit* Well, they can just.. bite me (can ya tell i'm a wee bit stressed and bitter? ha!)

Im suprised your calls havent been monitored all along...Its a call centre right...?..what you do there is take calls from their customers...so wouldnt they wanna make sure you are doin that with a smile?..*G

damn you heidi of course our calls our monitored...but we work at a computer. So now instant messages and everything else is looked at by some nosey guy...who just sits there seeing what we do online.

It just seems weird to me that they're monitor the computer...calls are to be expected. Etc.....im tired too

Here in Britain we are the most watched country in Europe, cctv cameras are springing up on every street corner and we are told it's to stop the spread of crime. Of course this is complete bullshit and was proved at the end of last year when a young boy was stabbed to death in London in the middle of the afternoon but the cameras failed to catch sight of ANYONE in the area at the time of the murder.

A bill was also passed in Autumn of last year that gives all companies in the UK the right to monitor your private e-mails at work. Paranoia or a police state??

Hmmmm, where I work, the boss knows not only when I have used a computer, but just exactly where I went, when I went there, and he even knows why I went there. I can't do anything in fact without him knowing it. And yes, he does watch me pee. I guess that's one of the downsides to being self employed though. *sigh*

N Snail its a normal thing at pretty much all the companies everywhere now.. the only way to avoid it is to be self employed then some hacker is gonna see what yer doin on yer comp too..... Or move up the corporate Ladder n be the guy who watches *EFG*
